Coal Hard Truth Forum – 6 pm at LCCA - Currently, one of the nation's largest coal companies, Peabody Energy, is working on a massive coal export terminal at Cherry Point, just north of Bellingham, WAThis Coal Hard Truth forum will feature expert panelists discussing the health and environmental impacts of this activity and will also feature a public Q and A session. Lopez is fortunate to have 4 tennis courts, whose construction was made possible by a group of interested Lopezians. The courts are managed by the non-profit Lopez Island Community Tennis Association [LICTA]. They are open to the public free of charge, but rely on public support for their upkeep.
